Since 2000, Ashton House Nursery has run Kindermusik programmes for parents and their children to enjoy together. Our programmes are developed and led by Nic Dunbabin, our qualified Kindermusik educator. Kindermusik is great fun for your child and includes songs, instruments, and musical actions. The Kindermusik curriculum is led by the latest research, using specialists in music, movement, and literacy. The programmes are designed specifically for the age of your child, who will gain most from an appropriate set of activities and musical instruments.
The programmes are as follows: Ages newborn to 1½ years
Kindermusik Village seeks to nurture the bond between you and your child through interactive movement and musical play. All your baby’s senses are stimulated through creative movement, vocal play, object and instrument exploration and colourful literature. Kindermusik Village programmes run over a course of 10 weeks, with one class per week. All classes last for 30 minutes. Ages 1½ to 3 years
At Kindermusik Our Time children and parents enjoy singing, moving, listening, social interaction and playing simple instruments. Children’s language skills are developed through singing and rhyming and social skills are encouraged from listening and turn taking. Creative movement to musical “moods” develops children’s balance, timing and spatial awareness. Kindermusik Our Time programmes run over a course of 15 weeks, with one class per week. All classes last for 45 minutes. Ages 1½ to 5 years
The 'ABC Music and Me' programme is created specifically for children enrolled in a nursery setting, as parents' participation is not needed in class. Parents are encouraged to further their child's learning by using the at home materials provided. ABC Music and Me is a researched based language and early literacy programme build around music. It encourages children's pre-literacy and language skills through a child's most loved rituals: music and story time. We have been running classes since January 2009, for children in Busy Bees, Grasshoppers and Caterpillars and Butterflies.
