Busy Bees enjoy a variety of art and craft activities each day such as drawing, painting and gluing. The children recently enjoyed a project ‘about our bodies’ and made fantastic paintings using handprints and footprints. These were all displayed in their room.

Music is part of every day in Busy Bees. The children join in with different action rhymes and often use Makaton sign language during singing and music activities.

They especially enjoy imaginative play and dressing up and like to try on different hats from the dressing up box.

They love to play in their outdoor area which leads directly off the room. This is set up each day with different play equipment and ride-ons to encourage balance and mobility. They often go for walks around the grounds and visit the horse in the neighbouring field.

Encouraging and developing the children’s social skills is also important in Busy Bees. The children are encouraged to take turns and to share with the other children.

At snack and meal times the children sit together in small groups around tables to create a homely environment.
