A long-standing and highly qualified Staff Team...

• We employ a qualified teacher to work with the pre-school children
  
  
• Our deputy manager has Early Years Professional Status (EYPS)
  
  
• All of our staff are trained or are currently training towards NVQ3 in Early Years Care and Education
  
  
• Our staff have the opportunity to train up to degree level. Some staff already have degrees
  
  
• We offer a structured in-house training programme for our staff which includes training in first aid, child protection, food hygiene and Makaton
  
  
• The majority of our staff have worked at Ashton House Nursery for many years

Staff are excellent role models for children...

Staff and children know each other really well. Children feel at ease to communicate with people they trust within our caring, happy and warm environment. Our staff pride themselves on their strong relationships with each other, which encourages children to develop their own positive relationships.

Staff actively listen to children and respect their ideas...

Our staff are always patient and have time to listen. They are always positive and calm when communicating with children and have exceptional questioning skills which encourages children to extend their learning. Staff capture the exact words that children use to describe their ideas and thoughts, which are then displayed and recorded for children, parents and staff to reflect upon. Parents really appreciate our staff’s excellent knowledge of their children and the effort to which their learning and experiences are recorded in their individual Learning Journey books.

We go the extra mile to support children with additional needs...

We devote a large amount of time to providing the best possible care for children with additional needs. Special relationships are developed between staff and parents and strong partnerships between our nursery and outside agencies.
